About Freedom A & T
Our Mission and Vision
Our mission at Freedom A & T is to engage scholars through hands-on, land-based learning that connects academics, agriculture, and community development.
Our vision is to grow creative, collaborative, and critical scholars who use the classroom, the garden, and the farm to lead the community and feed the community.
What We Offer
- A learning experience where Math, English, Science, and Social Studies are connected topics, not segregated topics.
- Hands-on learning in organic farming, as well as healthy and ethical use of modern technology.
- Student-led projects tackling:
- Food insecurity
- Environmental health
- Cultural expression through cooking and eating
- Nutritional education
- Real-world skills for school, careers, and community leadership.
The Founders
Brandon is the co-founder of Freedom A & T with a background in literacy intervention, middle school English instruction, curriculum creation, and program leadership. He enjoys poetry, boxing, gardening, and the New York Knicks.
Jeremy is the co-founder of Freedom A & T and Executive Director of Freedom Scholars Learning Center. A leader in education since 2020 with roots in Freedom Schools since 2007, he brings expertise in leadership, research, and curriculum design. His work centers youth voice, viewing teaching as a humanizing relationship that values students’ lived experiences and potential.
